Mulch Bed Installation and Restoration

Mulch can be used in natural area or an attractive ground cover for shrubs and trees. Mulch is used to retain moisture in the soil, suppress weeds, keep the soil cool, prevent frost damage. Organic mulches help improve the soil’s structure, drainage, and nutrient-holding capacity as they decompose.

Many different wood materials are processed to create ground mulch, and the mulch may be colored different shades to compliment your landscape. the most requested mulch in our area is brown double-hammered mulch, and it contains smaller wooden pieces from recycled pine or soft wood materials.

Mulch beds keep the soil at or below the original level. Mulch beds without bed edging tend to allow the mulch to spread slowly into the turf area. An organic spray mixture can be applied to set/tighten/stabilize the mulch pieces to one another. We can apply mulch stabilizer for you; call us at 704-507-1016 and request for Mulch Stabilizer.

Along the sidewalk it should amass lower than the lawn grasses. Bed edging may be needed to create a delineated barrier between your turf and mulch bed. (a service explained in more depth within the Bed Edging section.)

We can also restore your mulch back to an original shade or color as needed; call us and ask for Mulch Color Restoration services at 704-507-1016.

Approximate Coverage Rate Guide

A cubic yard of Mulch is equal to about 14 large bags (2.2 CF) of Mulch.

Cubic yard of mulch will cover on average a 100 sq. ft. at 3" inches or 150 sq. ft. at 2" inches of depth.

(It is a good idea is to keep any additional Mulch covered and sealed.)
