We prefer a weekly cut during the growing seasons and it is best to cut less than a third of a grass plant. Your lawn grass is a plant and it needs growth above and below the soil level. The grass plant extends to the roots underneath the soil. A one or two (1-2") inch length of grass cutting would be the right amount of cutting for grasses with smaller (2"-3" in.) root and growth (2-3"in.) above the soil level.

We mow all Fescue, Zoysia, and Bermuda grasses. Fescues and Bermuda grasses require different approaches for their best maintenance. Tall Fescue grass grows best in the Fall months, and it is kept at 3.5" to 5" inches. Zoysia and Bermuda grasses grow best in the Spring and Summer, and they are cut and kept best at 1.5" to 3"' inches.
